Ginger Lemonade

Ginger Lemonade

This refreshing ginger lemonade balances bright citrus with the warm, spicy kick of fresh ginger, creating a drink that’s both invigorating and soothing. Freshly squeezed lemon juice brings a clean, tart flavor, while maple syrup adds gentle sweetness without overpowering the natural ingredients. Blending the ginger directly into the drink ensures bold flavor in every sip.

Perfect for hot days, casual gatherings, or as a revitalizing homemade alternative to store-bought drinks, this ginger lemonade is easy to make and simple to customize. Serve it over ice with lemon slices for a classic presentation, or adjust the sweetness and strength to suit your taste. It’s a crisp, naturally sweetened drink that feels equally at home as a daily refresher or a special treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 piece fresh ginger, 10 cm (about 70 g), peeled and chopped
  • 1 cup (250 ml) fresh lemon juice (about 3–4 lemons)
  • ⅓ cup (80 ml) maple syrup
  • 6 cups (1.5 liters) water
  • 2 lemons, sliced (for garnish)

Directions

  1. Blend the ginger and lemon juice
    • Place the chopped ginger and lemon juice in a blender or food processor. Blend until completely smooth.
  2. Add remaining ingredients
    • Add the water and maple syrup to the blender. Blend again until fully combined.
  3. Strain the mixture
    • Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a large pitcher, pressing or stirring to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the ginger pulp.
  4. Serve
    • Fill glasses with ice and pour the ginger lemonade over top. Garnish with lemon slices, if desired.

Notes:

  • Adjust sweetness by adding more maple syrup to taste.
  • For a stronger ginger flavor, reduce the water slightly or strain less aggressively.
